I was so impressed with the fast, polite and kind lady who took our order.
We went to this place for a team outing dinner and the overall service and experience was excellent!
The food is delicious and very fresh. I will definitely go there again. -

I was recommended this by my hotel concierge at the St. Regis as a spot for good Asian in Chinatown.
Nice spot and felt like you were in the right place to get some good food.
I'd say my lunch was average , and I blame myself for bad order selection.
The salty cod as starter was tasty, and quite salty, deep fried.
The shrimp dumpling was fine (3 pieces from the dim sum menu) although it didn't arrive until I was almost through my meal.
At the recommendation of the server I ordered the chicken chow menu noodles for lunch. I'm more adventurous and I think that would be the main stream safe item to recommend. I'll say that it didn't have much chicken in the dish. I figured this has to be the BEST chow mien given where we were.
I should have looked closer at YELPERS recommendations for order items.
Nice service, place was half full on a Wednesday for lunch. -

My family and I came across this place by accident while visiting San Francisco. When we walked into the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by one lady. She got us seated and took the time to explain to us what they had, as this was our first time there. She kept on checking on us to make sure everything was good.
However, there was another waiter and waitress that I felt could have been a bit more friendlier. When the waiter brought my food (fried rice), I asked him for a spoon, as there wasn't one on the plate. Although he did get me the spoon quickly, he didn't acknowledge me - he just turned to grab the spoon right after I asked. For a second, I thought he didn't hear me. As for the waitress - when we thanked her for providing us with what we needed (a take-out box), she simply said "ok". I think its common courtesy to say "you're welcome". I know I sound very picky, although I don't take it personally. But others might, and it is nevertheless something they could improve on in terms of customer service.
The price was a little high in my opinion. For example, the fried rice itself cost $16.50 - about 50% higher than what I expected.
Speaking of food quality - I think it was ok. It could have been better, but it was probably also due to me having a different eating style (which I don't blame the restaurant for).
The waiting time was ok (7 minutes before the first dish arrived, everything arrived under 20 minutes), but since we were there about 20 minutes prior to their break time, it was just us. I would imagine that the waiting time would be much longer if there were more people.
In terms of the cleanliness of the restaurant (including the restrooms), I think they did a pretty decent job.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was ok. If you don't mind the somewhat high price, then I guess it probably wouldn't hurt to pay this place a visit. -

Looks can be deceiving. I usually fast and eat after 12PM. I also follow IF on the weekends. I am not super strict about it but last Saturday after my lash appointment I took the kids to San Francisco for the afternoon. I know Tess wanted to try any pearl tea place up here plus I know how much she loves dim sum. Gavin enjoys dim sum, too.
We parked in Union Square and proceeded by foot. There is no way I am driving in Chinatown. W/in 15 minutes we were there. I wanted to find a restaurant though Mon Kok Bakery sounded awesome at that moment but I knew that it being after 1PM the kids were hungry and deserved a sit down meal. We saw this place and walked in. I almost walked out immediately because the place was rather empty and all I saw were Caucasians... but Gavin wanted to stay because he was hungry and lazy to walk to another place.
The hostess and entire waitstaff were friendly and warm. You order from the menu and I could say that it offered the basic dim sum dishes. We ordered an array of steamed delicacies... the one that stood from what we ordered was their beef chow fun w/ black bean sauce. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the shiu mai but everything was great. Our water was constantly refilled.
Never a judge w/o giving it a shot. -

The food is spectacular, great flavor. Service is great. Restroom was very clean. Outside of the building is not what the inside looks like. I would absolutely come back again.
